Where evidence-based care meets your lived experience.
You deserve therapy that truly understands you — your faith, your culture, your story. At Noor Psychology, every session is a space built on trust, clinical excellence, and genuine human connection.
"Good therapy doesn't ask you to leave your faith or culture at the door. It meets you exactly where you are — and walks alongside you toward the life you want to live."
There are a lot of therapists out there. Here is why clients choose Noor Psychology — and why they stay.
No endless talking in circles. Sessions are structured, purposeful, and focused on getting you real, lasting change. Every session has a direction — and we track your progress together.
I understand Muslim and South Asian communities intimately. You will not need to explain your world from scratch here. Your faith, your culture, and your lived experience are already part of the work.
The gold standard in UK CBT accreditation. Not all therapists are BABCP accredited — this credential means you are working with someone trained, assessed, and held to the highest clinical standards.
Fully insured, professionally supervised, and fully compliant with UK data protection law. You are a safe, qualified professional's client — every single session.
I understand that reaching out for therapy — especially within our communities — takes courage. Everything is handled with complete discretion, warmth, and respect. No judgement. Ever.
Fully online via encrypted video. Serving clients across the UK, UAE, and internationally — with complete confidentiality and flexible evening appointments to suit your schedule.
I don't try to be everything to everyone. I specialise deeply in the areas below — and I bring years of clinical expertise to every one of them.
Obsessive-compulsive disorder is widely misunderstood — and often goes undiagnosed for years, especially in our communities.
I specialise in all presentations of OCD including:
Burnout is not laziness. It is the result of giving everything — to work, to family, to everyone else — with nothing left for yourself.
I work with:
Anxiety shows up differently for everyone. I work with the full range of anxiety presentations — always through a culturally informed lens.
Including:
So many people come to Noor Psychology carrying these exact thoughts and feelings. You don't have to keep carrying them alone.
Racing thoughts, constant worry, or physical symptoms that leave you exhausted and unable to be present in your own life.
Unwanted thoughts that feel shameful or frightening — especially when they conflict with your values or faith.
Memories, nightmares, or emotional reactions that feel out of proportion — as though your nervous system is stuck in the past.
The weight of balancing cultural expectations with your own identity — and never feeling quite enough in either space.
Struggling with your relationship with Allah or your deen — and feeling unable to discuss this with a therapist who would understand.
Running on empty — giving everything to work, family, and others, with nothing left for yourself.
I combine the gold-standard of CBT with culturally informed practice, ensuring your therapy is both clinically rigorous and deeply relevant to your lived experience.
BABCP-accredited CBT is the foundation of everything I do — evidence-based, structured, and proven to create lasting change across anxiety, depression, OCD, and trauma.
Your background, family dynamics, and cultural identity are not incidental — they are central. I integrate this understanding into every aspect of your treatment.
For clients who wish it, Islamic concepts and values can be thoughtfully woven into your therapy — complementing CBT techniques rather than replacing them.
All my work is underpinned by trauma-informed principles — ensuring you feel safe, respected, and in control throughout your therapeutic journey.
We set clear goals together and work at your pace — with regular reviews to ensure therapy is moving in the direction that matters most to you.
Whatever you bring to the room — shame, confusion, fear — will be met with warmth, respect, and complete professional confidentiality.
A 15-minute call to discuss your needs, ask questions, and see if we're a good fit.
A thorough clinical assessment to understand your history and set clear therapeutic goals.
Weekly CBT sessions tailored precisely to you, your culture, your pace.
Building skills and tools you carry with you long after therapy ends.
For the first time I had a therapist who genuinely understood both my faith and my mental health. Shabana created a space where I didn't have to explain or justify my beliefs — she simply worked with them.
I'd tried therapy before and always felt like an outsider. With Noor Psychology, I finally felt seen. The CBT techniques were explained clearly and I've carried them with me every day since.
Working with Shabana helped me untangle years of trauma I'd buried. Her approach was gentle, structured, and — most importantly — it actually worked. I'm a different person now.
A free 20-minute consultation costs you nothing — and could be the beginning of everything. Let's talk.

My name is Shabana and I am a BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist working at NHS experience level, with over a decade of experience supporting people through anxiety, OCD, trauma, depression, and the complex intersections of identity, faith, and culture.
I founded Noor Psychology because I saw a gap. So many of my clients — particularly those from Muslim and South Asian communities — had experienced therapy that felt alienating, culturally blind, or spiritually dismissive. I wanted to build something different. A space where clinical excellence and cultural fluency are not in tension, but work together.
Noor (نور) means light in Arabic. That is what I hope to bring to every therapeutic relationship — not answers, but clarity. Not direction, but accompaniment. A steady presence as you find your own way forward.
I bring genuine warmth, lived experience of navigating faith and identity, and deep professional commitment to every therapeutic relationship I hold.
I work with a range of presentations, always through a culturally sensitive and trauma-informed lens.
Generalised anxiety disorder, panic attacks, health anxiety, and chronic worry — using evidence-based CBT techniques to break the cycle.
Low mood, loss of motivation, hopelessness, and emotional numbness — working collaboratively to rebuild meaning and engagement with life.
Obsessive-compulsive disorder including Pure O, contamination fears, and intrusive thoughts — treated with specialist ERP-based CBT.
Processing difficult or overwhelming experiences using trauma-focused CBT — at your pace, with full control throughout.
Navigating bicultural identity, intergenerational conflict, shame, and the complexities of living between cultures.
Boundary-setting, communication difficulties, codependency, and the emotional impact of family dynamics.
Chronic stress, emotional exhaustion, and recovery from burnout — with practical strategies for sustainable wellbeing.
Bereavement, complicated grief, and navigating loss — including losses that others may not fully recognise or validate.
My therapeutic approach combines clinical excellence with genuine human understanding. Here is what guides my practice.
BABCP-accredited CBT is the foundation of my work. It is structured, evidence-based, and proven effective for anxiety, depression, OCD, and trauma. We work together to identify and change unhelpful thinking and behaviour patterns.
Your background, family dynamics, and cultural identity are not incidental — they are central to the work. I integrate cultural understanding into every aspect of your treatment without assumption or stereotype.
For clients who wish it, Islamic values and concepts can be thoughtfully woven into your CBT. This is always optional, never assumed — and always clinically grounded alongside evidence-based practice.
All my work is underpinned by trauma-informed principles — ensuring you feel safe, respected, and in control throughout. I work at your pace, always.
Therapy works best as a genuine partnership. We set clear goals together and review progress regularly — ensuring every session moves you closer to the life you want to live.
Whatever you bring to the room — shame, confusion, fear — will be met with warmth, respect, and complete professional confidentiality. There is nothing too difficult or too shameful to discuss.
Therapy works best as a partnership. You are the expert on your own life — my role is to bring clinical skill and walk alongside you.
Everything I do is grounded in research and clinical best practice. I don't use techniques because they're fashionable — I use them because they work.
Clinical rigour and genuine warmth are not opposites. You will always be treated with dignity, kindness, and complete non-judgment.
I believe therapy should be accessible and pricing should always be clear. All fees are per 50-minute individual session unless stated.
